Uprising Paintball Video

The 2nd best part of Uprising was their paintball videos. The best part was playing with great ballers. I miss playing with these guys. Race, Chris, Bo, Drew, Phil and all of the Uprising crew just loved to grind. Ghetto Ballers, all of them. Some of the best non-pro players I ever got to play with. Of course Phil eventually played pro with the Naughty Dogs, so there you go. This paintball video shows the kids out playing like they always did.

I often wonder what they are all up to now? Practices with them were intense. They kept me going in the game years after I would have otherwise walked away, right up until I blew my knee out.

Race loved to make paintball videos of the team in action, he has a real gift for it, and consequently Uprising developed a strong following. They started Uprising Nation and Blacklist Videos (
paintball video production company).

I’ve been trying to track down most of the old videos Race made of Uprising, so it was fun coming across a few of them on YouTube, but I want the older ones.

Tracking Down More Paintball Videos

I really want to see more of the paintball videos from Blacklist but I’d also like to see videos that other people recommend, so if there is a video on YouTube or elsewhere that you think is just a show stopper leave a comment with it and share your find with others.

My Favorite Paintball Videos

Race and team have made some of my all time favorite paintball vidz, partially because I am in a few ;-) But regardless I am saddened by the demise of Uprising and what it has meant to the production of videos that had been occurring in their heyday…

College Paintball Championship

This video is the Fox College Paintball Sports broadcast of the 2007 JT USA College Championships. This video starts about half way through the championship match between the University of Connecticut Huskies and the Penn State University Nittany Lions.

I am impressed with the level of skill the players on both of these college paintball teams demonstrate. However the Fox College Sports broadcast team blows. Most of the amateur video of paintball I’ve watched has better production values. However the play by play announcers do a pretty good job… So there you go.

College Paintball, my story

Back when I was in College we started a paintball club for Washington State University. We worked hard to get the College to allow us to promote paintball at all. Putting up a flier inviting people to come out to a game, or show up at a meeting was a big deal. Getting the university to recognize the paintball club, was, well, monumental.

We played only one season as the University club paintball team, however the university did allow us to sell concessions and stay a recognized student organization for 5 years.

Going through all of that just to get my college paintball team into existence, I am utterly blown away by the USA Paintball championships as they now stand.

More College Paintball Videos

I am interested in tracking down videos from all of the college paintball championships, held over the years. If you find one and want to share it, leave a comment with a link to the video.

I have stumbled across a stash of videos from a team I use to go play with, that I will be posting in the next few days. Good times.

Update: One of these paintball videos is now up.

Paintball Video – Millennium Series

This paintball video of the Millennium Series in Europe is a wonderful showcase for the greatest paintball tournament series in the world. The facilities, staff, and fans are phenomenal. I always loved going to the Euro events. So I went looking for vidz from past Millennium Paintball Series events and found this one from the 2005 Amsterdam event… Amsterdam and Paintball are a dangerous mix.

This paintball video starts a little slow, however it is well done and shows some of the best Euro ballers and US teams in action. This 22 minute paintball video is just a clip from a much longer movie the producers are making, at this point I guess they have already made the whole thing ;-)

Paintball History in Video Form

It is fun to stumble across these paintball videos from past events and relive the moments that have now become history. Triumph, glory, and tragedy, paintball has it all. Paintball videos like these are a great reminder of triumphs gone by, as well as the pain and sorrow of defeat. These are moments that will not return, they cannot be lived again, but through these videos we glimpse a moment that is full of emotion and adrenaline.

Eclipse Paintball Video = Awesome

Eclipse does another great job with this paintball video series. Everything Eclipse touches, in regards to paintball, is gold, and this video series is no exception. This particular paintball video is broken into 4 chapters, to be nice to you I have decided that rather than breaking it into 4 posts I am just going to give all the in this single post.
Paintball Video Eclipse TV
In this paintball video we follow Edmonton Impact in their Rookie Pro season. They take on Dynasty for the first place spot at the Tampa open and Aftermath for the win at the PSP Chicago event.

Eclipse Paintball Video – Part 2

For their first season as professional paintball players they are Damned good! Edmonton Impact has nothing to be ashamed of for making the finals at these events, even if they don’t win the whole thing, it is really amazing how well they do. These paintball videos do a great job of showcasing their talent.

Eclipse Paintball Video – Part 3

Just watching these paintball videos makes me want to come out of retirement, but then again I was never as good as the players on Edmonton Impact, they are flat out ballers, even if they are Canadians ;-) ! Regardless it gets me itchy to play.

Paintball Video Vault

Not really, it just sounded good. I want to see the paintball videos you think are the best. Leave a comment with a link to your favorite paintball video to share with the world. I am personally a fan of the Uprising Paintball Video and the Millennium Amsterdam Paintball Video. Or go to the Paintball Video section of Paintball Gun Man to see all of the videos I recommend.

In this episode and chapter of one of my favorite Paintball Video series’, Avalanche has to win the last match in this best of 3 versus Impact.  The Pro Semi Finals at the 2007 NPPL Tampa Open, for Avalanche comes down to this.

In this video Avalanches hopes of forcing a best of 3 1 on 1 tie breaker, comes down to a 1 on1 in the final minutes of the 3rd match. Harvath battles the back corner, to win the match, setting up the tie breakers.

Whichever team wins 2 of the 3 1 on 1′s goes on to play for the Tampa crown.

First match-up; Danny Tiliak of Avalanche versus Josh Davey of Impact. Match 1 ends in a draw… Are these teams evenly matched, or what?!

Watch the video to see what happens.

Part 2 of three from this popular Paintball Video series created by Planet Eclipse.

In this chapter Avalanche takes on Impact in the Semi-Finals at the 2007 NPPL Tampa Open. In my opinion these two teams are VERY evenly matched at this event. Which plays out in the video as the 1st match Impact wins, the second ends in a draw because Avalanche was unable to hang the flag before time expired. This is where this chapter ends. Chapter three begins with Avalanche having to win to force the series into a best of 3 1 on 1 play off. Do they succeed? Well I know because it happened three years ago, but if you don’t you will have to wait for tomorrows installment ;-)

Part one from this paintball video series titled Start Again. This video follows St. Louis Avalanche at the 2007 NPPL Tampa Open and their quest to return to the finals. In this first chapter, we watch Avalanche in their quarter final performance. Against  Farside,  Tiljak destroys the snake side giving them the win. Next up Dynasty, I could tell you what happened or you can just watch the video… Watch it ;-)

Impact in the semi’s and finals at the NPPL Huntington Beach Surf City open. Every episode I watch of the ETV series reminds me of why I love Planet Eclipse. Thanks to a great run through on the third and final match versus Dynasty Impact beats Dynasty 2-1 in about 6:30. Impact is the first team in history to move from the Semi-Pro to pro bracket and make the finals on their first event. Yes this is ancient history, occurring in 2007, but I like the videos and want to share them with everyone.

The ETV series fills a niche that has been missing for several years in the paintball community. I think it is important to show the game at it’s highest level, mostly because it is a world that is only known to a small group of players, but is one that any paintball player can achieve, if they really set their minds to it. In no other sport, except maybe skate, is the top level so accessible to everyone. You just have to want it more than the next guy, and work to get there.

Part 2 of 3 in this paintball video series created by Planet Eclipse. In this installment we follow Impact as they move through the quarter finals at the 2007 NPPL Huntington Beach tournament. it is amazing to watch this team of Canadian’s crush  nearly everyone in their first professional event.

In 2006 Edmonton Impact placed 2nd in the Semi-Pro division of the NPPL series, giving them a chance to move to the pro division. I have rarely ever seen a paintball team make the move to the Pro level, without winning their lower division outright, so dominate the pro bracket in their first event. In fact the only other team I can think of that did this was The Ironkids aka Dynasty.

I finally tracked down the first in the Planet Eclipse Paintball Video series from ETV! This video was originally released in 2007 but still rocks. I will be posting the whole series of episodes here for your viewing pleasure.

This episode of Eclipse TV documents the Pro Debut of Canadian super team, Edmonton Impact at the NPPL Surf City Open, aka Huntington Beach. Impact makes it through the prelims into sunday… How do they fair in the semis? Do they make it into the finals? This is all ancient history at this point, but in part two of this video these questions and more are answered.

You might be able to tell that I am a huge fan of Planet Eclipse. They have always stuck to the highest quality standards in everything they put their name on, and these videos are no different.
