I am in love with this series of paintball videos created by Planet Eclipse. The more I see of them the greater my level of excitement to see the next video in the series.
This video, is just the trailer for the Paintball Video series Artifact, but it does a great job of portraying the emotion and camaraderie that is a huge part of paintball.
Call me a sentimentalist, but there are few places outside of a war zone where people can bond to the level that is often found on top level paintball teams. There was a great video produced in the 2000 called Push presented by Paintball Sports Magazine. The video documented the day and life of professional paintball teams from that day. It followed them in practices and tournaments. From airports to hotels. It was the first video to capture that world on film. There are some great moments captured, and I recommend it highly to anyone who wants to know the real history of professional paintball.
Artifact follows Push and Sunday Driver in the vein of documenting the lifestyle, camaraderie and people in professional paintball, so I love it. That and Matty Marshall does a great job with the dialogue, his prose captures the emotions of the moment.
As I track the various videos down I will be posting them here, to share with everyone.
“Ghosts On The Boardwalk” is the 2nd in a new online paintball video series called Artifact, produced by Planet Eclipse, in association with Deep Elm Records and Disconnected Media.
This episode follows San Diego Dynasty in their quest to regain their dominance in the first stops of the PSP & NPPL Professional Paintball circuits.Dynasty has not won he Surf City Open in Huntington Beach, California, in five years. Huntington Beach is an event Dynasty once dominated.
As with anything from Planet Eclipse this video is high quality through and through. I love that Matty Marshall does the narrating. The first time I remember him doing so was in the “Sunday Driver” movie and he made that video have a deeper impact with his words and insight into the psyche of the pro paintball player.
One of the great paintball events of the Year, the NPPL Huntington Beach Open. This video is provided by ProPaintball.com and covers the Saturday highlights from this major NPPL event.
Pro Paintball .com does a fantastic job covering the world of the Professional Paintball Athlete, and this video is a great little clip of the happenings of one of the biggest events of the year in tournament Paintball.
It was my favorite tournament of the year as a player and it usually had the largest crowds and one of the best trade shows. If you are on a team, this is one event you should play at least once in your career.
I hope this short vid gives you a taste of the National Professional Paintball League.

Paintball Gun Man LIVES!
Paintball Gun Man.com is long past due. A decade ago I ran oddballsports.com then 24-7paintball.com and later paintballbuzz.com. Each of those sites was around for several years, but were all about my paintball team at the time or a paint ball business I was running. So as those businesses and teams destinies flowed, so did the various sites. If only I had held onto several of those sites rather than letting them fade away, ah but hindsigt is always 20/20 and there is no way to revisit the past.
Now, Paintball Gun Man.com is devoted to my favorite part of the great paintball adventure, GEAR. I love paintball guns, the technology, the upgrades, the design, everything there is about the Gear is… awesome. I have always been a gear hound, and with paintball the addiction leaped to new heights. At one time I had over 20 top end paintball guns, 50 barrels and untold number of masks, jerseys, hoppers, gloves etc. I like aspects of most paintball guns but my all time favorite is still the Worr Games KarnivOrr Autococker. you’ll notice that just about every picture of me playing, I am using one variant of the autococker or another. However in my time I have owned most of the top paintball markers, from the Phantom to Dark Angels and Ego’s.
From time to time I might throw some tactics advice in, and point to other sites. I also like to post interesting paintball videos, but what I really want to accomplish with Paintball Gun Man.com, is researching and displaying the best paintball equipment available in the world today. And I don’t mean just the high end paint hoses. I will be creating videos where I will give my opinions on quality, durability, maintenance, features, you name it. And because I am a great guy, I’ll point you to the best deals that I find, and any contests or give-aways I come across.
And yes that is a picture of me, it was taken at the 2002 Las Vegas PanAM and is courtesy of Warpig.com. Bill Mills from Warpig took many pictures of me throughout the years and has always had great content. If you don’t already know Warpig.com you need to go spend some time there.
I hope that my paintball gun reviews, videos and content are something that you find compelled to return to, and frequent Paintball Gun Man.com.
