How do I to stop my paintball goggles from fogging up?

I am going paintballing again on saturday, I went a few months ago, it was so good! But it was kinda ruined because my goggles fogged up. I literally couldn’t see anything by the middle of the games and it messed up everything.

Any tips/stuff that could stop this? The paintball place offer this spraying stuff that clean ur goggles and I heard they stop the fog, but i am not sure if this is true.
Thanks – Alex

Alex you ask a common question that is one of the biggest problems of most new paintball players. There are several ways of fixing this issue.
1) Buy thermal lenses for your goggles. These work great and are not that expensive.
2) Buy a Vortex fan from JT for your goggles, quiet, reliable and work exceptionally well.
3) The anti fog spray does work okay, you just need to re apply through out the day DO NOT USE WINDEX or any other cleaner than contains amonia, it eats little pits in the lens and eventually ruins them.
4) Remove a small section of the foam that goes around the edge of the lens on two sides. I have always removed the section of foam where the strap goes out of the goggles. This lets the out moist air from your breath out. However if you do not have ear protection this should not be done as it gives a place for paint to get in. So be careful and if in doubt don’t use this tip.
5) Chapstick works really well, but can be a bit messy, wax will also work.

So there are 5 ways of lessening the fog in your paintball goggles.

How much does it hurt to be shot by a Paintball gun around 15-20 feet?

Just wondering lol. -Crey

Well Crey, it really depends on the part of your body you were hit on and the amount of clothing you are wearing.

I have been playing for 21 years at this point and I played tournaments for most of that time. Much of my career was spent as a front player and as such there is probably no square inch of my body that has not been blasted by a paintball at close range. So with all of that out of the way.

My three worst places to get shot at close range.

3) The pinkie… Jumping jeebus on a Popsicle stick. This is painful and can actually break your finger. I cannot describe how much I hate getting hit in the pinkie…
2) The base of your neck right by the collar bone. Great koogley moogley, this one is a serious shock to the system, made me feel dizzy and gave me a head full of stars.
1) The junk, balls, testicles, what ever you want to call it, getting shot here is lights out suck.

For the most part you won’t even notice because of all the adrenaline in your system, and the fact that most shots at this range are mask, gun or pack shots. But on the rare occasion you take one to any of these three body parts, well it sucks.

What paintball gun should I get?

I’m just starting and the price has to be under 130 dollars. I’m looking to get the us army alpha black tactical edition and what is e-grip. Thanks - Hunter.

Hunter this is a very common question and I wrote a post about the Best Paintball Gun for a beginner that you should check out.

What it really comes down to is getting one you are comfortable with, and since you have one that excites you get the gun you want, no reason not to.

An E-Grip replaces the mechanical trigger with an electronic one. So rather than your trigger pull acting as a lever that releases the sear and thus the hammer, leading to the paintball gun shooting, in an e-grip you pulling the trigger clicks an electronic switch which then causes a solenoid to release the sear. The benefits are many. You can have MANY firing modes, like 3 round burst, full auto, semi, etc. The trigger pull is MUCH smaller and lighter allowing far greater rate of fire with the same marker.
